Our History

Kiptewit Girls’ High School is a public boarding school that was hived from the former Kiptewit High School in 2004. Kiptewit High School was started in 1972 as a Harambee day school by the AIC church in conjunction with the community. In 1977 the school became a government-assisted school. Between 2000 and 2007 the school went through turbulent times for some unclear reasons.

Kiptewit Girls’ High School had and still does have a fantastic reputation for its academics. Alongside the incredible cultural variety, I believed it was the best place for me to develop academically and as a young adult. Kiptewit sets your challenges far beyond those of other schools.

Stacy Nduta, Safaricom PLC

I think attending Kiptewit Girls’ High School was the best time span of my life. The best thing about Kiptewit is the serene environment and meeting with other students from so many different counties. This has given me a much better understanding of the different cultures we have in this world.

Patricia Chebet, Kenya Power Ltd

Kiptewit seemed to be the best place that offered me opportunities to grow as a person. It gave me lasting friendships and the strength and knowledge that I am able to achieve my goals no matter the obstacles face. My experience in Kiptewit has taught me true strength, and that it is okay to ask for help.
